“Taught from their infancy, that beauty is woman’s sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and, roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn its prison.”

I saw young minds curving inward to please a glance rather than stretching outward to grasp truth. They learn to decorate their chains while others build tools for freedom. Before nightfall, you must teach a girl that her mind is her sceptre and not the mirror of a tyrant’s vanity.
