To Wollstonecraft, I feel her pull just as the mountains draw me when I leave the town behind, for there is a voice only silence can make clear. We are both compelled to listen because the world of clocks and dust smothers the truth we seek. While you hear a human voice, I have found that nature speaks more loudly if one stops to feel her presence in the high air. “Nature is covered and her voice smothered” while we dwell in lowland care, but out there she sings freely for those who dare to wander.
